ETS TOEFL Exam: What Is It?

An English language competency test known as the TOEFL iBT is given to students who choose to study abroad in English-speaking nations by the ETS online. In order to satisfy the English language competency requirement, applicants to universities in the United States and other English-speaking nations must take the TOEFL exam. From university to university and program to program, the requirements vary. Before applying, please be sure you review the admissions requirements.

The curriculum and testing procedures of the ETS TOEFL exam have complied with university and institutional norms since its introduction in 1964. The test was recently revised in 2005, and its new name is TOEFL iBT. To determine if a candidate’s reading, listening, writing, and speaking abilities are up to the standards of today’s best academic contexts, the exam now includes assignments in these areas.
